Christmas 2009

Christmas once again at The Running Pump, Catforth, a once favourite haunt of the No Name Dinner diners, all of whom this year were even more pleased see back amongst them, John and Christine, following Christine's prolonged and intensive medical treatment.

It was also the first night that we had been able to sample the valued contribution made by John Knowles who, at our last dinner, went to great lengths to relate his experiences as an entrepreneur woodworker and manufacturing joiner. John has designed, especially for our benefit, and the Running Pump proprietor, a table layout with a maximum capacity to seat 20 people based on a place setting of 23 inches, the international masonic standard. Our thanks go to John and Steve Liver who journied tirelessly from Morecambe to finalise the arrangements.

The Running Pump could have been warmer when we arrived, but as the evening progressed the temperature rose, and the food left us with little to complain about, though some comments were made about the sea bass!

The one thing that is constant and can be guaranteed is the 5 Star company
